Joel discovered his passion for beauty and fashion as a teenager in central Pennsylvania, where he adorned his bedroom door with collaged pages of Vogue and articles by Linda Wells, dreaming of a creative future. That ambition propelled him to New York, where he refined his artistry, training in French techniques at Frédéric Fekkai before perfecting his craft under the tutelage of Marie Robinson.
Inspired by his frequent travels to Paris, Joel has mastered an aesthetic of effortless, lived-in beauty. He brings to New York a signature sun-kissed balayage and a nuanced eye for adding dimension and depth—whether crafting expressive espresso brunettes, vibrant copper reds, or soft, buttery blondes.
With over fifteen years of expertise, Joel has designed looks for film and television, working with a celebrated roster of clients including Anne Hathaway, Keri Russell, Sienna Miller, Andrew Garfield, and Rose Leslie. He prides himself on being a thoughtful collaborator, using clear communication to understand each client’s lifestyle and aspirations, ensuring their color not only looks beautiful but feels authentically aligned with their personal and professional vision.
